About Katie
Hi! I'm Katie Bingaman. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and psychotherapist.
I see myself as a guide and mirror alongside my clients as they uncover their own inner roadmap for wellbeing. Using a combination of evidence-based techniques and exploratory conversations, I help my clients build on their own unique gifts and achieve powerful shifts in perspective and behavior.
In terms of my style, I try to show up the way I ask my clients to: authentic and engaged. I am at my best when working with clients who want to dig deep and get to the bottom of things. My style is tender without being squishy, challenging yet nurturing, and I strive to create space for my clients to bring their whole selves to therapy.

When out of office, you'll find me getting my hands dirty in the garden, trying to PR my crossword times, (thinking about) meditating, hunting for the best slice of pizza in town, and taking day trips from the Blue Ridge to the Bay with my husband and daughter.

I earned my BA in English with a minor in Creative Writing from James Madison University.

I went on to recieve my Masters in Social Work from George Mason University with a concentration in Clinical Social Work.

I have worked with folks involved in the criminal justice system, student counseling centers, community mental health clinics, psychiatric hospitals, and small group private practices.
