I have a special interest in treating body image injury and disordered eating, especially with folks who struggle with compulsive or binge eating. I love helping my clients find peace and freedom in their relationship to food, movement, and their bodies. I am a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor and I use a Health at Every Size lens. Read more about the work I do with body image and eating here.
I am ecclectic in my approach, which means that I am trained in a number of clinical approaches that I draw from to create treatment plans that are tailored to each of my clients' unique needs.
Modalities I use include Person-Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. I strive to be a provider who is LGBTQIA-affirming, weight neutral, and trauma-informed. I'm happy to answer any questions about what this means for you in our phone consultation.
I provide all of my therapy services virtually. While there are some circumstances in which in-person therapy is necessary, there are many benefits to virtual sessions including accessibility, convenience, and privacy. I work hard to minimize distractions and preserve the warmth and connection that is cultivated in the traditional “therapeutic container.” I have been providing teletherapy since March 2020, and my anecdotal experience echoes what evidence increasingly suggests: clients can make great progress with virtual therapy.
